The reality show will once again be a partnership between two media giants.
On Friday, August 14, the Philippines’ longest-running reality show format, Pinoy Big Brother, made a major announcement through the noontime variety program It’s Showtime.
Housemates from past seasons of the show— Celebrity Collab Edition 1 and 2.0—were present, with the likes of Mika Salamanca, Will Ashley, Klarisse de Guzman, AC Bonifacio, Lella Ford, Joaquin Arce, Ashley Sarmiento, and Marco Masa performing in the opening production number.
The show’s main hosts Bianca Gonzalez, Kim Chiu, and Gabbi Garcia then delivered the major announcement from “Kuya” that was teased in the past few days.
Officially, the upcoming season of the reality show will be known as Pinoy Big Brother Collab 3.0 and will continue to be a partnership between ABS-CBN and GMA, as previously announced by Kapamilya executive Laurenti Dyogi.
As also mentioned by the ABS-CBN TV Production Head in the past, it will be a regular season, with the first teaser indicating that it will be open to Filipinos worldwide aged 18 to 35 years old.
On the same day, the online auditions were finally opened during the Kapuso network’s flagship newscast 24 Oras, with those looking to join the reality show asked to upload a 1 minute video introducing themselves through a dedicated website until August 31 at 11:59 pm (Philippine time).
Currently, there are still no details regarding when the new season will start. But, at this point, the bigger question also remains: where will the new house be?
It can be recalled that the show moved out of the original location of the iconic yellow-colored house located right across the ELJ Communications Center in Quezon City after the Celebrity Collab 2.0 ended its run earlier this year.
Pinoy Big Brother was launched in 2005 amidst the reality and game show frenzy that swept the nation, with Nene Tamayo hailed as its first winner.
After its first season, which became a cultural phenomenon, the program went on to have various editions exclusive to a particular group such as Celebrity and Teens.
In the past decade, however, these editions have since been fused into one — a practice that began with All In in 2014, followed by 737 in 2015, Lucky 7 in 2016, and Kumunity in 2021.
In early 2025, ABS-CBN and GMA inked a partnership deal that paved the way for the groindbreaking Celebrity Collab Edition, which featured cast members from both Star Magic and Sparkle, the respective talent management groups of both networks.
That was quickly followed up with Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 in October that same year, which saw teen stars from both agencies live under one roof throughout the season.
