A new power trio in the national pageant scene has emerged.
On Friday, August 7, the inaugural edition of the Reina Filipinas pageant was held at the Newport Performing Arts Theater in Pasay City.
During which, 21 candidates from all over the country competed for the three titles up for grabs that evening: the Miss Grand Philippines 2026 and the two spots for the second edition of MGI All-Stars.
Angelica Lopez, Binibining Pilipinas-International 2023 and Miss International 2024 semifinalist, was announced as the Grand winner and will represent the Philippines in the next edition of Miss Grand International later in the year.
There, she will attempt to pull off a never-before-seen three consecutive win, following 2024 queen CJ Opiaza and reigning titleholder Emma Mary Tiglao.
The representative from Palawan also bagged the Best in Swimsuit, Reina Pasarela, and Reina Urban Smiles awards.
Meanwhile, two international queens will also return to a global stage as are set to compete in the next MGI All-Stars, which held its inaugural edition just last May.
Miss Eco International 2025 Alexie Brooks, who competed as Miss Iloilo, won one of the spots up for grabs and special awards such as Best in Evening Gown, Best Seller, and Reina Kserene.
Meanwhile, Miss International Queen 2025 Top 6 finalist Anne Patricia Lorenzo, who made history as the first and sole transgender woman to compete alongside cisgender female in a national pageant, is also joining the next All-Stars edition.
Meanwhile, the runners-up were also announced. Cleopatra Barrera was named first runner-up, while Isabelle Ortega went home as second runner-up.
Capping that off are Zeah Nestle Pala, who ended as third runner-up, and Luisa Benavides as the fourth runner-up.
