She is joining the third season of the franchise on the Kapuso network.
On Friday, July 31, GMA Network officially announced the next personality who will join the upcoming season of The Voice Kids, which will air later this year.
The Kapuso It Girl, Gabbi Garcia, has been tapped to join the program as its “journey host,” who will be the one to directly interact with the contestants and their families.
In her interview on the flagship newscast 24 Oras, she shared how she felt about becoming part of this new installment of The Voice.
“I’ve always wanted to be part of The Voice at saka iba kasi ‘yung journey host, eh… You really have to connect with the contestant,” the 27-year-old actress-singer-host revealed.
Furthermore, “Iba ‘yung feeling na nakakausap mo sila firsthand. Malalaman mo ‘yung istorya nila, malalaman mo ‘yung mga pangarap nila (at) kung ano ba talaga ang rason nila kung bakit sila sumali sa The Voice Kids.“
Garcia also expressed how much she looks forward to working with Dingdong Dantes anew.
“It’s the first time na makakatrabaho ko si Kuya Dingdong sa hosting stint. But I also worked with him sa Encantadia noong 2016,“ she shared. “In some way, medyo (chika) na kami ni Kuya Dong and it’s so fun to work with him also.”
In the requel of Encantadia, Dingdong portrayed the role of Raquim, while Gabbi played the part of Alena.
Meanwhile, she also said that she sees herself in the contestants, having started auditioning at the age of 4.
“So, it’s really more personal na dinadamayan ko sila na ‘Alam mo, maybe, one day you’ll get there kasi ako nga, dati ang dami kong rejections. Pero, eventually, I was able to reach my dreams. Maybe it’s just the timing lang talaga.’“
Apart from Gabbi and Dingdong, also part of the upcoming season are the three coaches: Julie Anne San Jose — the lone remaining judge from the previous editions produced by GMA — together with OPM icons Yeng Constantino and Gloc-9.
