The much-anticipated comeback of its three lead stars instantly piqued the interest of viewers.
Last July Friday, July 24, ABS-CBN Studios and Dreamscape Entertainment dropped on streaming giant Netflix the pilot episode of the new series Someone, Someday, which stars Kathryn Bernardo, James Reid, and Maja Salvador.
Within 12 hours, it instantly became the most-watched show on Netflix Philippines Nx entered the Top 10 list of most-watched TV shows in Singapore and Malaysia on the same platform.
On iWant, where it premiered on Saturday, July 25, it also performs strongly, with the show, as of this writing, also included in the streamer’s Top 10 Shows in the Philippines.
During its premiere telecast on Monday, July 27, the drama drew 334,170 peak concurrent viewers on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and registered 4.9% in the Nielsen Television Audience Measurement.
Moreover, it had multiple trending topics on X (formerly Twitter), with viewers commenting about the show and posting episode clips and their own edits.
The pilot episode introduced viewers to the ride-or-die friendship of Billy (Kathryn) and Jordan (James), which was highlighted as Jordan comforted his best friend when Billy was abandoned at the church by her fiancé (JC De Vera) during their wedding day. Billy was also introduced as a doting elder sister to her younger brother Oliver (Migz Casimiro), who is suffering from diabetes.
The character of Maja, Abi, has not yet been revealed, but she is expected to bring different twists and turns to the story.
Someone, Someday airs weeknights at 8:45 pm on ABS-CBN sa ALLTV2, Kapamilya Channel, A2Z, and TV5 on linear television. It is also seen on Kapamilya Online Live on YouTube and Facebook, and TFC.
Meanwhile, episodes drop 72 hours before the TV broadcast on Netflix and 48 hours in advance on iWant.
