She has shared her sentiments in her latest social media post.

Actress Angel Locsin has once again made her return to social media on early Thursday morning, July 16.

In which, she primarily expressed her point-of-view on the recent statements made by her former co-star, Senator Robin Padilla, at the ongoing impeachment trial of Vice President Sara Duterte.

During the trial day last Tuesday, July 14, Padilla asked the witness, Atty. Jeremy Lotoc of the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI), regarding a supposed Operation Romanov.

That allegedly drew its name from the Romanov dynasty in Russia that was toppled during the Russian Revolution in 1917, and was mentioned during Duterte’s November 23, 2024 online press conference.

The Senator, who sits as one of the Judges of the Impeachment Court, then suggested that such be viewed as a threat to families leading the fight against communist forces, whom were also those that led the deposition of the Romanov clan.

Alam naman po natin lahat… si Apo Lakay Ferdinand Marcos Sr. ang number one na lumaban sa komunista dito sa Pilipinas,” Padilla said, adding that the other President who supposedly pushed back against communist forces was ex-President Rodrigo Duterte.

“Komunista ako, ha?” he also mentioned at one point of his questioning.

Lotoc, who led the Cybercrime division from 2023 until 2025, emphasized that the matter is something that concerns the NBI intelligence division.

ANGEL’S MESSAGE

More than a day after that remark was made, his former co-star, Angel Locsin, took to social media to share her open letter.

Locsin and Padilla previously worked in the GMA series Asian Treasures in 2007, the sitcom Toda Max from 2011 to 2013, and two seasons of Pilipinas Got Talent in 2016 and 2018 as judges.

Angel also said that she was happy to see the “old” Robin Padilla that she once knew, at least in this specific instance.

At least, honest ka ngayon, Kuya,” the actress furthered.

But at this point, Locsin asked where was  now-Senator Padilla during the time that she was getting red-tagged by people, especially by those who are within his circle.

Naghugas-kamay at pumikit sa katotohanan,” she continued.

In the latter part of the letter, she also questioned the political alignment of the senator in matters such as the case of detained Pastor Apollo Quiboloy and the Philippines’ territorial dispute with China.

Angel then appealed to his emotions as she emphasized that as artists, their indebtedness is not to one person alone, but to a higher being and the rest of the people.

In the end, Locsin left a strong sentence for Padilla. “Tama na, Kuya. Gising na. Hindi pa huli ang lahat.“
