On Friday, July 10, Korean pop star Jaehyun of the mega boy band NCT dropped his newest solo single entitled 99 Degrees.
The song is described to be a metaphor for the boiling point of water, which is 100 degrees, with the track describing the incomplete state that will only be whole through the existence of the other person.
Alongside the digital single’s release, the over four-minute-long music video was also uploaded onto streaming platform YouTube, where it has already crossed the 140,000 views mark.
This marks the first music release of the 29-year-old K-pop star since he was discharged from the mandatory military service program of South Korea last May.
Moreover, it is also follows his previous solo releases with the album J and the single Unconditional in 2024.
Jaehyun made his debut as one of the original members of NCT in 2016 and then became part of the line-up for the group’s fixed sub-unit NCT 127.
127 is known for their songs like Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, Sticker, and Favorite (Vampire). among others.
In 2023, Jaehyun also formed with Doyoung and Jungwoo the sub-unit NCT DoJaeJung and released the single Perfume.
Aside from doing music, Jaehyun has also been active as an actor, making his debut in the drama scene in 2022 via the series Dear M.
