Philippine Airlines announces more nonstop flights to Canada, New York starting Q4 2026

It will also come in time for the holiday season.

In a press statement, flag carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) announced the expansion of its North American network. This, as it is set to launch additional nonstop flights to Vancouver and Toronto in Canada, as well as New York, USA.

The current Manila-Vancouver service will he increased from seven flights weekly to 10, effective November 17, 2026.

Meanwhile, the Manila-Toronto service will see an additional flight, bringing it up to four flights weekly beginning December 5, 2026.

As for the Manila-New York service through the John F. Kennedy (JFK) Airport, services weekly will also likewise be increased to four starting December 2, 2026, with the fifth one coming during the peak of the holiday season between December and January 2027.

According to them, the move provides customers with “more travel options,” while also it strengthens the connectivity of the Philippines and the rest of Southeast Asia with Canada and the United States.

The expanded services further strengthen Philippine Airlines’ leadership in the Philippines–North America market and reinforce its position as the leading Southeast Asian carrier operating the most nonstop flights between the region and North America,” the airline added.

It also disclosed that the additional Toronto and New York services will initially be operated by the Airbus A350-900 before transitioning to PAL’s new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, as additional aircraft join the fleet.

The A350-1000 airctaft, which PAL holds the distinction of being the first-and-only carrier to operate the model in Southeast Asia, will also begin serving San Francisco starting August 2026 to offer more premium seating and  strengthen its competitiveness on the US West Coast.

The expanded schedule, it also furthered, will provide additional cargo capacity to support growing trade, e-commerce and high-value shipments between the Philippines and North America.

The expanded North American schedule will also happen within days of the commencement of the three-times-weekly Manila to Chicago flights beginning November 9, 2026.

Together, the airline noted, these form part of its “long-term network growth strategy,” which will help strengthen Manila’s role as a premier gateway between the two regions, as well as  support tourism, business, investment and cargo opportunities across the Pacific.

Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall emphasized: “North America continues to be one of Philippine Airlines most important markets.”

As travel demand grows, these additional flights strengthen our position as the preferred nonstop carrier between the Philippines and North America whilst providing our customers with greater choice, improved connectivity, and more opportunities to travel, do business, and reconnect with family and loved ones,” hr continued.

The officer also said that the Philippine flag carrier will continue to support tourism, trade and economic ties between the Philippines and our key North American markets.

The additional North America frequencies will also connect passengers from those countries to destinations across Southeast Asia via Manila — including Jakarta, Bali, Phnom Penh, Bangkok, Singapore, Kuala Lumpur and Hanoi.

PAL also has partnerships with American Airlines, Alaska Airlines and WestJet for seamless onward connections to numerous destinations across the United States and Canada.

Currently, PAL operates scheduled nonstop flights from its hubs in Manila and Cebu to 29 destinations across the Philippines and 40 destinations in Asia, North America, Australia, and the Middle East.

The airline is also recognized by Cirium for achieving the highest on-time performance among Asia-Pacific carriers in 2025.
