SEVENTEEN’s Vernon, The8 drop ‘singasong’ under new sub-unit V8

On Monday, June 29, K-pop stars Vernon and The8, both members of the mega boy group SEVENTEEN, formally made their debut as the latest sub-unit called V8 through the release of the namesake debut mini-album.

Carried as the lead single of this release is the single entitled singasong, which is said to be a blend of electronic and hyperpop sound with K-pop and alternative hip-hop.

As of this writing, the video has already breached the 150,000 views mark on streaming platform YouTube.

Alongside that, also part of this mini-album are the tracks Friend, BEAT, Coloring, rat race, and the K-pop stars’ solo tracks, with Vernon having mia and The8 with 8DM.

Meanwhile, in their other song, girlsnboys, no less than award-winning musician Pharrell Williams and BUMZU were given songwriting and production credits.

V8 is the latest sub-unit for launched by SEVENTEEN over the years, with the list led by BSS (Seungkwan, DK, and Hoshi), JxW (Jeonghan X Wonwoo), HxW (Hoshi and Woozi), CxM (S.Coups and Mingyu), and most recently, DxS (DK and Seungkwan).

Their debut also comes as the band officially went on a three-year hiatus at the conclusion of their Caratland concert in Incheon, South Korea last June 21 to give way to the impending military enlistment of Vernon, as well as Mingyu, DK, Seungkwan, and Dino in the coming months.

Currently, Wonwoo, Hoshi, and Woozi are still in the process of fulfilling their respective duties, while Jeonghan has just been discharged last June 25.

SEVENTEEN debuted in 2015 and went on to release multiple hit tracks like Pretty UAju NiceDon’t Wanna CryClapOh MyHomeHitFearLeft and RightHome; RunReady To LoveHot, and Super, among others.
