She reflected on her two-decade-long career in the industry.
Through her Instagram account on Wednesday, June 3, Kapamilya superstar Kim Chiu shared a series of photos taken during her trip to France and a special video from two decades ago.
She uploaded these stills, along with a clip all the way from the Pinoy Big Brother: Teen Edition Big Night in 2006 — when she was declared the first-ever Big Winner of the teens-only spinoff — as she marked her 20th anniversary in showbusiness today.
In the caption, Chiu wrote: “Today marks my 20th year in showbiz. Honestly, it still feels unreal.🥹✨🙏🏻❤️”
The actress-TV host then looked back on her younger years, way before she joined the business.
“As I sit here and look back, I can’t help but remember being that young girl from Cebu. Every Sunday, my mom would bring me to church—either at the Sto. Niño Church or Our Lady of Mount Carmel. Most of the time, it was just the two of us. She would always tell me: “Istoryaa ang Ginoo. Ingna Siya unsa imong ganahan.”” (“Talk to the Lord. Tell Him what you like.”)
“So I did. I prayed for good grades. I prayed for someone to help send us to school. I prayed for a house we could finally call our own. I prayed that one day we’d never have to keep asking for help. I prayed that I would have enough so I could help my family,” Kim said.
For her, she felt back then that some of those prayers were “impossible,” yet, years later, she is now “living the life I once prayed so hard for.”
The 36-year-old personality then took the opportunity to thank the people who have helped her become the woman that she is now.
“To my solid supporters who have loved and supported me unconditionally for two decades—thank you. Your time, effort, loyalty, and belief in me mean more than words can ever express. Thank you for growing with me and for standing by me through every season of my life,” she expressed her message to fans.
To her ABS-CBN family, she also gave her thanks for being her “home” for the past 20 years. “Thank you to all our bosses and everyone behind the scenes for the trust, guidance, and opportunities.”
She also thanked all the brands who believed in her and entrusted her with representing their names.
“And most importantly, thank You, Lord, for every answered prayer, every closed door that protected me, and every blessing that changed my life,” Kim furthered.
The It’s Showtime host and star of the series The Alibi then emphasized: “I always say this, but it’s true: Kung may sobra pa sa salitang ‘SALAMAT,’ yun po ang gusto kong sabihin sa inyong lahat.”
“Maraming, maraming salamat po. ❤️🙏🏻 Cheers to 20 years!!!!✨✨✨ and hopefully more and more!!!!😁😁😁🥰😘🥳🥳🥳🤩 love you all!!! MARAMING MARAMING SALAMAT PO!!!😍” she concluded her post.
