In his recent interview with Boy Abunda on GMA’s Fast Talk With Boy Abunda, actor Jake Cuenca proudly announced to the world that he is now in a relationship with Miss Universe Philippines 2020 Rabiya Mateo.
“Kami na,” Jake happily answered Abunda’s hanging question from a commerical break, before sharing further about how their relationship began.
He recalled that after finishing his work in FPJ’s Batang Quiapo and What Lies Beneath, he started courting the beauty queen. “She’s always been a crush of mine and once nung tinapos ko yung dalawang programa ko, once I was able to finish my responsibilities, I had to shoot my shot and I messaged her on social media.”
Jake then shared that Rabiya inspires him, as she took a break from showbusiness to pursue medical school at the University of Santo Tomas.
The 38-year-old even remembered that his girlfriend was worried around the time the results were coming out that he convjnced her to hop on a trip to Hong Kong to take a quick breather.
“Maybe if we go to Disneyland, we’re in the right frequency and I believe if you’re in the right frequency of happiness, you’re gonna manifest your dreams. It happened in Disneyland–– nagkatotoo yung sinabi ko sa kanya,” he said.
Jake also revealed that it was on the same trip when Rabiya got her acceptance letter and he asked her to be his girlfriend after three months of exclusively meeting each other.
On whether he sees marrying Rabiya, he sakd that he is already seeing it as a possibility, but did not want to spoil much just yet.
“I can see that. I don’t want to spoil it, ayoko mag salita ng ganun, but definitely with her, I can really see it,” Cuenca said.
