It became a talking point on social media at the start of the week.
In a video statement aired by TV5’s Frontline Pilipinas, courtside reporter Apple David addressed the ongoing controversy involving her and Colegio de San Juan de Letran varsity player Chad Gammad.
This, as many pointed out their 15-year age gap, with David, 33, and Gammad, 18, and criticized the sportscaster for engaging in a relationship with the young cager.
According to the report, they have been together for a month with Apple saying, “I know it’s a very risky relationship because of the age gap, but it’s a risk we are both taking and I hope people can be kind enough to allow us to do that in peace.”
She continued by thanking those who have supported their relationship and told, “Sa mga tao po na nakakaintindi, sa mga tao po na sumusuporta and nag nagpahatid ng mga mensahe nila, maraming maraming salamat po sa inyo.“
As for the offended parties, she expressed her apologies. “Again, sa mga na offend, we’re sorry but we just ask for respect as this should be a happy time for us.”
At present, Chad has not yet to spoken up about the matter.
