GMA Network bags bronze medals, finalist certificates at New York Festivals TV & Film Awards

The network’s win came from productions of its multi-awarded Public Affairs division.

At the 2026 New York Festivals (NYF) TV & Film Awards, broadcast giant GMA Network brought home awards and certificates for several documentary programs and movie.

The network won two Bronze Medals for the Philippines alongside seven Finalist Certificates.

The first of the two medals was for GMA Public Affairs’ special documentary Broken Roads, Broken Promises, which which won under the Documentary: Human Concerns category.

Presented by actor-host Dingdong Dantes, the one-off special Brough viewers to a journey across the Philippines, as he exposed the devastating human cost of corruption amid the multi-billion-peso flood control project scandal in late 2025.

Meanwhile, The Atom Araullo Specials has received the other bronze medal for the documentary Golden Tree, which was registered under the Environment & Ecology category.

The said episode investigated the high-stakes illegal trade of Agarwood (Lapnisan), which is considered one of the most expensive natural raw materials in the world.

Meanwhile, the six other GMA Public Affairs’ production received Finalist Certificates are The Atom Araullo Specials episode entitled Baby Makers in the Social Issues category; Kapuso Mo, Jessica Soho’s Stolen Coastline (Environment & Ecology) and Unbound (Health/Medical Information).

Reporter’s Notebook‘s Asia’s Scam Cities (Documentary: National Affairs); and I-Witness Embalmer on Wheels (Community Portraits) and Garbage Drivers (Heroes category).

Meanwhile, the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival Best Picture winner Green Bones, which was produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs and co-produced by Brightburn Entertainment, earned the seventh Finalist Certificate under the Films: Feature Films category.

Top-billed by Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, it was directed by Zig Dulay and written by National Artist Ricky Lee and Public Affairs Senior Asst. Vice President Angeli Atienza.
