Anton Vinzon stars in new GMA afternoon series ‘Kamao’

Rising Kapuso teen actor Anton Vinzon is now stepping into a major role as a leading man, as he topbills the new GMA Afternoon Prime series entitled Kamao.

According to the Kapuso network, it is their first “sports drama” that will mirror the story of every Filipino “who remains strong, resilient, and determined to show up for their family despite being punched by life’s challenges.”

“Makmak (Anton) is an amateur boxer who dreams of becoming a champion. But his toughest battles happen outside the ring,” read the description provided by GMA in its press release.

“He gets caught up in the lies and controversies surrounding his former boxing champ father and endures the unbending rules of his grandfather.”

“In the pursuit of the championship belt, Makmak learns that true victory is not measured by awards and accolades, but by being triumphant over the battles in life,” it added.

Joining Anton in the series are no less than some of the country’s finest actors, led by his father Roi Vinzon, Amy Austria, Neil Ryan Sese, Wendell Ramos, and Katrina Halili.

Also part of the cast are Bruce Roeland, Therese Malvar, Chanty Videla, Tito Abdul and Tito Marsy, Matt Lozano, Euwenn Mikaell are all part of this project under the direction of L.A. Madridejos and Richard Arellano.

This show is Anton’s next project after the primetime action series Mga Batang Riles and his stint in the reality show Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition 2.0 in 2025.

Kamao will make its premiere on GMA Afternoon Prime this May 25 and will air weekdays at 3:20 p.m. on GMA Network and Kapuso Stream.
