Reinforcing its position as an ultramodern and world-class sports and entertainment venue in the Philippines.

According to SM Prime in a press statement, its premier entertainment venue SM Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena in Pasay City mounted more than 200 events and welcomed over 1.1 million attendees in 2025.

The number is 10% higher than the previous year, which the company told reflects its sustained demand from both international and domestic promoters.

In total, since it was first opened in 2012, there have been 2,400 shows held at the 15,000-seat venue, which has served as the Philippine stage for major global tours.

Some of its most-notable events were Lady Gaga—who served as the opening act of the site, Taylor Swift, Maroon 5 and BTS. On top of music acts, it has hosted high-profile sporting and cultural events such as the 2023 FIBA Basketball World Cup and the 2025 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Championship and key activities for Miss Universe 2016.

Long-running family productions such as Disney On Ice have also been consistent fixtures in its event calendar.

Jeffrey Lim, President of SM Prime Holdings, said: “These events reflect the strength of demand for large-scale, professionally managed venues in the Philippines.”

Our continued investments in our arena portfolio align with our strategy to strengthen our integrated developments, support tourism, and deliver compelling live experiences to our customers,” he added.

To maintain long-term competitiveness, there have been targeted infrastructure and technology upgrades across its arena platform.

In 2025, MOA Arena completed a USD2.1 million installation of a new center-hung LED system supplied by Daktronics, enhancing visual clarity and production flexibility for sports and concert configurations.

According to the company, “the new SM Arena Cube center-hung enhances the viewing experience with clear visuals and immersive surround sound, improving sightlines from every seat and as part of the upgrades at the venue, it supports high-definition live feeds, real data integration and synchronized visuals, reinforcing the venue’s commitment to quality live entertainment.

That followed the earlier enhancements, which included large-format digital displays and upgraded entry systems designed to improve crowd flow, operational efficiency, and security.

This year, SM Prime is also set to expand its arena footprint with the opening of SM Seaside Cebu Arena in Cebu City in the second quarter of 2026.

Beyond its flagship arena, SM Prime also continues to support live events through medium-format and outdoor venues across its portfolio, which has a total capacity of 110,000.

These include the SMDC Festival Grounds in Parañaque City, which can accommodate up to 70,000 attendees; the SM Mall of Asia Concert Grounds, with a capacity of up to 20,000; and the SM Cebu Concert Grounds, which can host up to 20,000 guests.
