This cements property giant Megaworld’s leadership in green office developments in the country.
In its press statement, Megaworld reported that Enterprise Two, its newest 12-storey office tower within its 72-hectare Iloilo Business Park township in Iloilo City, recently received LEED Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC).
Developed by the USGBC, LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) is the widely used green building rating system in the world.
“It provides a framework for designing and operating healthy, efficient, and cost-effective buildings while significantly reducing carbon emissions and environmental impact,” shared Megaworld.
Inside Iloilo Business Park, Enterprise One was also given the LEED Gold certificate. Hence, Enterprise Two is the second LEED Gold-certified office building in Western Visayas, following Enterprise One, which was the first office development in the region to achieve the certification.
With a total gross leasable area of 39,000 square meters, Enterprise Two features one of the largest office floor plates at 4,000 square meters in Iloilo City and presents itself as an ideal hub for IT-BPM firms and companies expanding their operations in the region.
Designed with sustainability, the building incorporates a range of green features, such as a rainwater harvesting system, double-glazed windows for improved energy efficiency, a highly reflective roof coating to reduce heat island effect, and low-flow water fixtures in restrooms.
In addtion, it promotes eco-friendly mobility through electric vehicle charging stations, bicycle racks, and convenient access to public transportation.
This rating further widened the company’s lead in sustainable office developments as its count of LEED-certified office buildings rose to 24, composed of 12 LEED Gold-certified and 12 LEED Silver-certified towers.
It also noted that with other developments already registered for LEED, additional certifications are expected later this year.
At present, its portfolio of LEED-certified and registered office properties to 32—currently the most in the Philippine real estate industry.
According to Megaworld, the roster of LEED Gold-certified office developments includes 8 Campus Building A, B, and C, and Southeast Asian Campus in McKinley Hill, Taguig City; 10 West Campus, and One Le Grand Tower in McKinley West, Taguig.
The Worldwide Plaza (JPMorgan Chase Tower), and Uptown Eastgate in Uptown Bonifacio also in Taguig; as well as One Paseo in Arcovia City, Pasig City and No. 1 Upper East Avenue in The Upper East, Bacolod City are in the list as well.
Meanwhile, its LEED Silver-certified office towers include Uptown Place Towers 1, 2, and 3, the Alliance Global Tower, and the International Finance Center (JPMorgan Chase Center) in Uptown Bonifacio in Taguig.
The Le Grand Avenue Towers 5, 9, 11, 15, 19, and 21 in McKinley West, Taguig, and the Pasudeco Tower at Capital Town in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
