The young athlete has made strides in another international event.
On Sunday, April 5, Karl Eldrew Yulo competed anew in another international meet as he participated in the 2026 FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Cairo, Egypt.
That day, the 17-year-old artistic gymnast competed in the men’s floor exercise final event, where he was able to meet the cutoff after scoring 13.900, which landed him the fifth spot, in the qualification round.
In the finals, he powered through an ankle injury to deliver a bronze-medal winning routine, as he scored 14.000 points.
In the said event, Bulgaria’s Daniel Marinov took home the gold medal with 14.233, while Russia’s Arsenii Dukhno logged 14.133 points and bagged the silver medal.
The young athlete is also participating in the Horizontal Bar finals, which is already underway as of this writing.
Prior to this, last March, Yulo, who is the younger brother of double Olympic gold medalist Carlos Yulo, earned himself his first senior level gold medal.
He took home the prize afted competing in the Men’s Floor Exercise event in the prior FIG Artistic Gymnastics World Cup Series, which was held in Antalya, Turkey.
Last November, he also won a medal at the FIG Junior World Championships, that was held in the Philippines, and capped his campaign with a bronze in the Men’s Horizontal Bar category.
