The Kapuso news organization has returned to its roots.
On Monday, March 30, GMA Network’s news division formally turned over a leaf in its its over six decades-long history.
This, as effective on the said date, the GMA Integrated News branding that was introduced in late 2022 and officially launched in 2023 has been retired in favor of the return to its original name as simply GMA News.
The relaunch that happened on the flagship newscast 24 Oras, the network told, “reaffirms a trusted and familiar identity while continuing to evolve in the digital age through innovative, multi-platform storytelling—grounded in the same core values it has upheld through the years.“
The renewed era of the Kapuso news organization is also described as a “bold move to strengthen its legacy and sharpen its identity in an evolving media landscape.”
“GMA News ushers in a renewed era this 2026, reaffirming its enduring commitment to its core mission: delivering truthful, balanced, and credible journalism to Filipinos around the world,” it added.
At the heart of this revamp is the reaffirmation of its iconic “Serbisyong Totoo” tagline, which the network tstated as one that underscores the organization’s role as the “Philippines’ foremost guardian of truth and a trusted source of authoritative news and information.”
The promise, “Walang kinikilingan. Walang pinoprotektahan. Noon at ngayon, Serbisyong Totoo,” is said to be the reflection of GMA News’ “unwavering dedication to impartiality, integrity, and public service—values that have defined its journalism across generations.“
Despite the return to its roots in terms of branding, GMA News moves forward with the intergation of units from the previous era and a total workforce of over 1,000 journalists, staff, and crew across platforms.
On TV, GMA News’ flagship newscast, 24 Oras— anchored by Mel Tiangco, Emil Sumangil, and Vicky Morales—remains to be the top-rating newscast on Philippine television.
Other newscasts of the network, 24 Oras Weekend, Saksi, GTV’s Balitanghali, State of the Nation, Dobol B TV, and Regional TV News all continue to join the leading newscast in providing information and public service through news reports, special features, and exclusive stories and interviews.
Across the regions, viewers tune in to GMA Regional TV also continent to produce One North Central Luzon, Balitang Bisdak in Central and Eastern Visayas, One Western Visayas, and One Mindanao.
GMA Radio, which include DZBB Super Radyo, also delivers headlines, breaking news, and special coverages through its 21 stations nationwide.
GMA News Online, the network’s official news portal, and GMA News’ Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, X and Tiktok pages are all part of the renewed mission of the organization as well.
