Emerging as the leaders of the Championship Division anew.
At the recent 77th Philippine Airlines Interclub Regular Men’s Golf Tournament, which was recently held in Davao City, the Eastridge Primehomes team was able to defend their title.
Across four rounds of the competition, the team scored a total of 563 points, besting Manila Southwoods Golf and Country Club that finished in second place with 530, and Tagaytay Highlands Golf Club placed third with 503.
Eastridge’s roster was led by Davao City golfer Alexander Bisera, who topped the Flight A leaderboard with 38 points at the South Pacific course and another 38 at Apo Golf and Country Club, for a total of 76 points.
“I just practiced consistency and the mindset of the game. I feel so good, grateful and so happy,” said Bisera, who also shared that he regularly plays everyday to maintain his form.
Other Eastridge scorers included Adrian Bisera with 65 points; Ralph Rian Batican and Niño Villacencio with 66 each; Edison Tabalin with 63; AJ Wacan with 67; Rolando Bregente Jr. with 68; Bobe Salahog with 73 (40-33); and Ronel Taga-an and Chris Jhon Remata with 72 each.
Meanwhile, in the Founders Division, Forest Hills Golf and Country Club topped the leaderboard with 501, Brittannika followed suit with 477, and Cebu Country Club ar third with 471.
Over to the Legacy Division, the title went to the Philippine Army with 436, followed by Zamboanga with 427 and Rancho Palos Verdes Golf and Country Club Team 1 with 425.
In the Aviator Division, Lanang scored 388 points to take the lead, followed by Sarangani with 375 and Apo Team B with 355.
In the Sportswriters Division, Liloan logged 322, followed by the Davao City Golf Club with 309 in second place, and Dole Kalsangi with 293 in third.
As for the Friendship Division, the win went to South Pacific Team B with 289, who led against the Paraiso Golfers Player Association that scored 243, who had a close fight for the spot against Yokohama Eagles, who finished third with 242.
During the ceremony, held at the SMC Convention Center in Davao, Philippine Airlines President Richard Nuttall highlighted the milestone year for the flag carrier as it celebrates its 85th anniversary.
He noted the similarities between aviation and golf, both of which, he said, demand precision and steady execution.
In this year’s, record number of 214 teams participated—including 90 in the men’s regular division—in the tournament that was originally founded in 1948.
