The TV and film star did not mince her words.
Last Friday, March 6, Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab 2.0 Big Winners Lella Ford and Caprice Cayetano made their first appearance on the noontime variety show It’s Showtime for the first time since winning the reality show.
During their guesting for Laro-Laro Pick, main host Vice Ganda teased both stars throughout the segment, with the moment during the It’s Giving portion getting the most attention.
When Caprice was asked of who was the personality in the photo, the 17-year-old blurted out “oh my god,” as she was pressed to answer within seconds.
Vice then jokingly said, “Ang sagot mo ay ‘Ay, oh my god.’ That is correct. Kesa i-bash ako ng mga follower mo correct ka na lang.”
When it was Lella’s turn to answer, the host already said that she was correct, with the joke being that she might get into trouble with the rising star’s mother, TV host Karla Estrada.
“Lella good luck…That is correct. Aawayin ako ni Karla…Ako na ang bahala mag-explain that is correct,” quipped the Unkabogable Superstar.
As mentioned, the part of that segment gained traction on social media, where it drew mixed reviews.
While many were in on the joke, some, including fans of both young stars, aired their opposing view on the matter.
In response, Vice took to her account on X (formerly Twitter) to air her sentiments. She wrote in a tweet, “Madami nga talagang toxic na fans ang mga PBB housemates. Mabababa ang functional literacy. Kaya napapabuntong hininga na lng ang mga staff ng show pag guest yang housemates e kasi for sure may mga fantards na konting utot magmamaoy. Imbis na maexcite ang staff nasstress.“
That, again, caused traction, with fans taking offense, while others defended the TV host-comedian, saying that negative reactions towards it just “prove the point.”
Meanwhile, that the same evening, Vice took time to reply to a few netizens. Particularly, she responded to one that claimed that she is a godparent of Lella.
“Tulad nito! Kelan ako naging ninang ni Lella??? Di ko nga alam kung nabinyagan na yan e! To naman makagawa lang ng chika. Magbasa basa ka na nga lng ng libro na bata ka para kahit papano maging smart ka. Go start na sa page 1!” told Vice.
Although, prior to the start of the game, the comedy icon had already reminded supporters that their behavior would reflect on their idols.
“Huwag ninyo bibigyan ng sakit ng ulo yung mga idols ninyo,” said Vice. “Huwag ninyong ipapahiya mga idols niyo sa mga ginagawa niyong kabulastugan, dahil hindi kayo ang napapahiya, sila. Sila ang nahihirapang makisama sa iba pang mga taong makakasalamuha nila.”
