She has officially begun a new chapter in her career.
On Tuesday, March 3, Korean pop idol BoA dropped new individual stills on her social media pages as her newly-established agency made its formal launch.
Called BApal Entertainment, the company said in its Instagram bio that it stands for “BoA’s pals,” symbolizing how it was created by BoA and her “friends”—who are her fans.
In the report of Korean entertainment new portal Soompi, the new agency said, “We respect BoA’s deep musical vision, and we plan to create an environment where she can pursue her goals in a flexible and natural way.”
It also said that the “precious memories and valuable experiences” she has gained over a long career are the “most important assets” that shaped BoA to become who she is today.”
They also mentioned that based on these experiences, the 39-year-old “aims to further strengthen her musical foundation.”
It was last January when her former home agency, SM Entertainment, announced that they have parted ways after 25 years.
“After extensive and in-depth discussions with BoA, we have agreed to conclude our 25-year journey together as of December 31, 2025.”
“Debuting in 2000 at the age of 13, BoA has, now past the 25th anniversary of her debut, been beloved by global music fans as an ‘icon of global expansion’ who pioneered the Korean Wave across Asia and as the ‘Star of Asia,’ and she has become a role model for countless junior artists driving the K-pop boom,” they added.
BoA debuted in 2000 with her first album entitled ID; Peace B, which featured the title track. In the years that came after, she released songs like No.1, Atlantis Princess, Milky Way, and Only One, as well as Japanese albums—all of which cemented her status as the Queen of K-pop.
