‘ABS-CBN is everywhere’: Latest plugs for Kapamilya primetime dramas spark intrigue

With netizens asking whether this marks the comeback of the brand on television?

In recent days, viewers and fans of Kapamilya programs began noticing changes in the teasers being released by the network.

What began as an observation of eagle-eyed watchers has since become a source of intrigue for many members of the public.

In this teaser trailer released for the final two weeks of the primetime action series Roja, everything appeared to be normal until the end, where the title card appeared.

Rather than the supposed Kapamilya Channel sa ALLTV2 network logo, attached was the ABS-CBN logo placed side by side with that of the new channel 2.

Initially, some users thought that the image was only a technical error or even a prototype, but as it stood, it was a deliberate move.

In these posters uploaded by the RCD Narratives unit for the mystery-thriller What Lies Beneath, the ABS-CBN logo once again went beside that of ALLTV2.

But as a catch, a pair of specialized logotypes for the Kapamilya Channel and Kapamilya Online Live were also seen in a subsequent material, with the parent company’s name and emblem sitting on top of these platform names.

As these photos continue to circulate, social media users have begun to ponder on whether this means that ABS-CBN is officially making its comeback as a brand on cable, online, and especially, free TV—where its existence has long been synonymous with.

At present, ABS-CBN has not yet issued any formal announcement regarding the matter.

However, if found to be an actual, impending rebrand—and not a mere marketing tactic to ensure that viewers associate these platforms better with ABS-CBN—this would become an “about face” for the media giant.

Since its free-to-air terrestrial mediums, TV and radio, were ordered to be closed by the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in May 2020, the network had largely shy away from using the name for its outlets.

It was true when they decided to launch Kapamilya Channel on pay TV and its digital offshoot Kapamilya Online Live on Facebook and YouTube.

The company also opted to go with an original name in A2Z for the channel that it has leased with Zoe Broadcasting Network since October 2020.

In early 2026, the company also opted to put Kapamilya Channel as the anchor for ALLTV2’s programming, a move that was then born out of a licensing deal between ABS-CBN and Advanced Media Broadcasting System (AMBS).

Throughout this nearly six-year period, the parent brand was kept alive via the corporate name and its divisions, such as ABS-CBN Studios and ABS-CBN News, to name a few.

ABS-CBN was formed in the 1960s when the country’s pioneering station, the Alto Broadcasting System (ABS) and the Chronicle Broadcasting Network (CBN) merged.
