It is indeed the “Nation’s Relapse Song.”
On Thursday, February 19, the hit single Multo of the original Filipino music (OPM) band Cup Of Joe achieved a major milestone.
The song, which was released in 2025 as part of the Silakbo album, is now the Most-Streamed OPM Song of All Time of the music streaming platform Spotify with a total of 512 million streams.
With the said feat, it surpassed another popular song, Tadhana, by Up Dharma Down (UDD), which was then historic for being the first OPM song to cross the 500 million mark.
In response to the support of the public and the new milestone, Cup Of Joe posted a short message on their social media pages.
It read, “From our hearts to yours. You carried this song farther than we ever imagined. We hope the ghosts you’re facing turn into healing. Salamat, Joewahs! ❤️”
Multo was first issued in September 2024, a few months ahead of the album in early 2025. The single propelled COJ to the top of the charts after reaching the number 1 spot in the respective national charts of music streaming platforms Spotify and Apple Music.
In March 2025, the band dropped the music video that starred real-life couple Elijah Canlas and Miles Ocampo, with the nearly six-minute long film bound to cross the 20 million mark on YouTube anytime soon.
Cup of Joe was formed in Baguio City in 2018, with the debut taking place a year later. The band gained following with the release of their extended play Patutunguhan, which carried the songs Tingin featuring Janine Teñoso, Tataya, and Kung Hindi Lang Tayo Sumuko.
