Lats Friday, February 6, Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Collab Edition Kapuso Big Winner Mika Salamanca released her first single under ABS-CBN’s Star Music.
Entitled Kasalanan, the track is part of her debut album, with the song having been written by Jeremy G, as well as Russu Laurente and Ishiro Incapas of the P-pop group Wrive.
For the action-packed, mafia-inspired official music video, uploaded on the same day, the actress-vlogger teamed up with Kapamilya actor Anthony Jennings.
“Anthony is perfect for the role since he is used to doing action stunts. He guided me all throughout and I am very thankful for him for being part of the music video,” said Salamanca in a press release.
She also called the song as her “love letter” to her fans.
Kasalanan was performed on national television for the first time via the ABS-CBN noontime program It’s Showtime.
Meanwhile Mika also sang it at the recent Wonderful Moments Music Festival in Parañaque City, where she was joined by her Kapamilya teammate Brent Manalo in the event that also featured acts like BINI, Cup of Joe, Sarah Geronimo, and Bamboo.
Upon its release, it instantly landed the no. 1 spot on iTunes Philippines and was listed among the featured tracks in the New Music Fridays list of Spotify and Billboard Philippines.
The latest Star Music release also follows Mika’s rendition of Sino Nga Ba Siya, which topped iTunes Philippines and UAE songs chart and also secured a spot in Singapore, Cambodia, Qatar. In addition, it also broke into the top 10 of Spotify’s Viral Songs Chart with over 5 million streams.
Mika and Brent also collaborated for yhe single What If Tayo? which ruled the MYX Daily Top 10 chart and has since garnered over 1.1 million views on YouTube.
