‘Almost Us’ starring Fyang Smith, JM Ibarra to hit theaters this May

On Tuesday, February 3, Regal Entertainment officially announced that Kapamilya stars Fyang Smith and JM Ibarra will become lead stars of a movie for the first time.

Entitled Almost Us, the film was originally known by its working title IRL, and will hit theaters on May 6, 2026.

Co-produced by the film company with Project 8 Projects, it will be under the direction of Dan Villegas, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Angel Tomas. At present, other official cast members in this project are yet to be revealed.

Almost Us will be the first starring role of the duo, also known as JMFyang, in a big screen project. Although, they were part of the cast of the latest installment of the horror movie Shake, Rattle and Roll: Evil Origins, which screened at the 51st Metro Manila Film Festival.

Prior to these, they have also showcased their potential in acting through the digital drama series Ghosting, which streamed as a banner show of ABS-CBN’s streaming platform iWant from July to December 2025.

Fyang and JM joined the reality show Pinoy Big Brother Gen 11 in 2024, where the former emerged as the big winner of the said batch.
