But not only that, the residents of the fictional version of Manila also voiced out their sentiment through a major rally, demanding that the Guerrero family to step down from their positions and relinquish it to Tanggol (portrayed by lead star Coco Martin).
Within his own family, Marites (Cherry Pie Picache) tried to convince her youngest son, Santino (Ronwaldo Martin), to make amends with his older brother.
While there was no major action scene—a.k.a. those already being teased in plugs—that aired that night, viewers tuned in to see the developments and progression of the story.
On free TV, it became the most watched series on the 8:00 pm time slot according to the National Urban Television Audience Measurement (NUTAM).
That evening, Batang Quiapo reached 10%, its first double-digit mark and the highest rating it since moving from TV5 to ALLTV last January 2.
Of that figure, A2Z contributed the huge chunk of audiences with 4.5%, followed by ALLTV with 3.5%, and the pay TV feed of the Kapamilya Channel with 2.0%.
Viewership on Kapamilya Online Live also reached a peak concurrent live view of 634,000.
In recent weeks, FPJ’s Batang Quiapo had also proven its might by becoming the most-watched show on the said time slot within weeks of its move to a new channel.
In one instance, it rated its now second-highest viewership figure of 9.6%, which trumped its rivals on other stations on the said slot.
