LTO scraps registration fee for custom-made motorcycle top box, saddle bag

Removing a burden of riders.

In a new directive by the Land Transportation Office (LTO), it announced that it has remobed the registration fee for custom-made top box and saddle bag attached to motorcycles, which amounts to PHP100.

The said order was signed by LTO Chief and Transportation Assistant Secretary Markus Lacanilao, who noted: “Ito ay malaking tulong sa mga rider na umaasa sa kanilang motorsiklo sa kanilang paghahanapbuhay para maalis na ang dagdag na gastusin.”

Lacanilao said that this order, which is in line with the earlier instructions of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. and Transportation Secretary Giovanni Lopez is in line with the LTO’s 7-Point Policy Agenda.

He clarified that despite the removal of the fee, the registration remains required for all these custom-made top box and saddle bag.

The agency’s chief also said that this order balances the removal of financial burden and the continued regulation, which aims to protect motorists, while also understanding the needs of riders.

In line with the new memorandum, the official receipt will be replaced with a certificate that will be based on the procedure of the Central Office.

Furthermore, all directives, standards, and regulations that are in opposition to the new order will be repealed.

To end, Lacanilao encouraged stakeholders, regional directors and officers, law enforcers, and leaders of inspection centers to fully implement the new directive and help motorcyle owners of the to complete the registration process without any issue.
