The network’s weekday evening block is having a major shake-up.
On Monday, December 22, TV5 teased how its primetime block will look like come January 2, as its existing partnership with ABS-CBN comes to an end the day prior.
With Kapatid viewers no longer able to watch the likes of FPJ’s Batang Quiapo, Roja, and What Lies Beneath on the channel effective on the said date, the station will be mounting its own programming slate.
While waiting for its planned original programs to make it to air, the channel’s weekday evening block will temporarily broadcast movies through Cine Cinco Primetime.
In contrast to its counterparts on other dayparts, this edition will screen blockbuster movies abroad and locally, with the 2023 Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) entry GomBurZa confirmed for its premiere broadcast on free TV, based on the teaser.
The said movie block will air from Monday to Friday at 8:30 pm.
Meanwhile, adjustments are also going to be made to the time slots of other shows.
The flagship newscast Frontline Pilipinas is expected to remain at 6:00 pm, although its runtime will be extended to 90 minutes to end at 7:30 pm.
Meanwhile, Kiko Estrada’s action drama series Totoy Bato will also be shifted to a later time slot at 7:30 pm and will air right before Cine Cinco Primetime.
The late-night newscast Frontline Tonight is also set to be moved to 10:30 pm and extend its length to a full hour.
These new times are expected to be temporary measures, as new dramas and concepts have been teased to air by the channel in the early months of 2026, with titles lime A Secret In Prague, The Good Doctor, and My Bespren Emman.
Willie Revillame’s game show Wilyonaryo is also confirmed to be airing on the Kapatid network’s primetime block in late January 2026.
