MMFF holds star-studded Celebrity Golf Tournament in Mandaluyong

On Tuesday, December 9, the Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) held its second Celebrity Golf Tournament at the Wack Wack Golf and Country Club in Mandaluyong City.

One of the major highlights of this year’s MMFF festivities, the event gathered stars, Metro Manila mayors, and personalities for a day that is one of the major highlights of the 51st ediiton this year.

Among the notable personalities who participated were Richard Yap,Tonton Gutierrez, Rocco Nacino, Vandolf Quizon, Vince and Patricia Hizon, Anthony Suntay, JC Parker, Dingdong Avanzado, among others.

Other celebrities who were also present at the event were Bianca De Vera, Will Ashley, Dustin Yu, River Joseph, Romnick Sarmenta, Cedrick Juan, and Marco Gumabao.

It was in line with the theme: “A New Era for Philippine Cinema,” which President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. continuously and actively supported, highlighting its role in promoting Filipino culture and the Philippine film industry.

Atty. Don Artes, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) chairman and Concurrent MMFF overall chairman, along with San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora and Mayor Emi Calixto-Rubiano of Pasay City, led the ceremonial tee off that marked the start of the tournament.

Artes said, “More than just a friendly competition among the personalities from the entertainment sector and the government, the MMFF’s Second Golf Tournament is a testament to the collaborative spirit to support the MMFF which showcases the rich tapestry of Filipino storytelling and artistic excellence and the Philippine film industry.”

He also expressed gratitude to the support of personalities from the entertainment sector, the government, and sponsore for the Philippine film industry, who all helped in “generating excitement for the festival,” noted the chairman.

The day culminated in an awarding ceremony that recognized the tournament’s top performances. Various awards and prizes included overall champion, runner ups, longest drive, nearest to the pin, longest putt, and most accurate drive, among others.
