She has set the record straight on the matter.
In a Facebook post, actress-content creator Ivana Alawi shared her statement after a man that appeared on her video was criticized by his inner circle on social media and were asking the video be taken down.
This stemmed from him not helping Ivana during her Buntis prank video, which Alawi denied and noted that the man in the video actually helped her, but they decided to focus on another named Kuya Hesus.
She wrote, “Ngayon, may lumabas na sinasabing dapat ko i-down dahil nakakakuha ng pambabatikos sa kanya. Pero hindi naman siya tumanggi sakin nung hiningan ko siya, sadyang naunahan lang siya ni kuya Hesus mag abot at doon na nagfocus ang atensyon ko.“
Meanwhile, she also said that she and her team always seek permission from the people that they feature in their videos.
“Bilang isang Content Creator, [m]atagal na po ako gumagawa ng street pranks. Alam ko na kailangan magpaalam palagi sa mga ipapakita ko na hindi naka blur,” she said.
Ivana added, “[K]ung papanoorin mo ang latest vlog ko na “Buntis”, marami ang naka blur sa una at gitna dahil hindi kami humingi ng consent sa mga taong yun, at alam ko na bawal silang ipost kapag ganon dahil baka mababash at majudge lang sila. Ganon din sa iba kong mga pranks, lagi namin binblur.”
The actress-YouTuber also said that they have raw footage of the prank, where the man allowed himself to bd inclided in the vlog after they asked for his permission before they left, with more clips not included in the vlog that was uploaded onto her channel.
“Marami po kaming raw footage nung Buntis Prank kung saan makikitang pumayag si kuya lumabas sa vlog ko pinaalam muna namin sakanya ito bago kami umalis, at madami pa ang nangyari na hindi na namin sinama sa vlog,” said Ivana.
Following this development, they have reached out to the said man and reminded him that he approved his inclusion in the clip. “Pinakita namin sa kanya yung raw footage at nakalimutan lang daw niya at humingi siya ngayon ng pasensiya,” she told.
The man explained: “Inaasar kasi daw sya ng mga taong kakilala nya na nakapanuod ng vlog ko na sayang ang 100k na dapat sa kanya napunta pero naunahan lang daw siya, kaya sya ay nakapag post ng ganun.”
“Ipinaliwanag namin sa kanya na para kay kuya Hesus talaga yun dahil sa nakita at na experience ko na kabutihan ng puso ni kuya Hesus,” continued the YouTube superstar.
Lastly, Ivana underscored that this must serve as a reminder to everyone to not easily believe everything on social media.
“Paalala na din ito sa mga taong mahilig maniwala agad sa kung ano ang nakita sa social media. Tandaan po na laging may dalawang side ang kwento,” she concluded.
