Gabby isn’t doing as well as we would have hoped, but the hospital continues to treat her accordingly.”

That is what Dr. Phylicia Henry-Samuels, the sister of Miss Universe Jamaica Dr. Gabrielle Henry, said about the condition of her sibling.

The beauty queen remains hospitalized in Thailand after she suffered injuries from a fall that occurred in the middle of the preliminary competition last Wednesday.

This accident caused her to be brought out of the venue in a stretcher, as witnesses recorded.

According to Miss Universe Jamaica Organization, the contestant is in Bangkok with her sister and their mother, Maureen Henry.

It then noted that medical personnel have further indicated that Gabrielle will be required to remain in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) for a minimum of seven days, as doctors continue their close monitoring and specialised care.

During this profoundly difficult time, the Miss Universe Jamaica Organization is earnestly calling on Jamaicans at home and across the Diaspora to continue keeping Gabrielle in their prayers,” Miss Universe Jamaica requested.

It added, “We also encourage friends, supporters, and well-wishers worldwide to join in lifting her in love, strength, and hope.”

The organization also urged the public and social media users to avoid sharing negative comments, misinformation, or speculation that may cause further distress to the family.

Our primary focus remains on Gabrielle’s recovery and the well-being of her loved ones. We kindly request continued compassion, sensitivity, and privacy as the family navigates this challenging period,” it said in the latter part of its statement.
