In an interview at the sidelines of Anko’s first anniversary event in Makati City last November 7, actress-TV host Anne Curtis was asked about her reaction to her own performance during the ‘ASAP’ show in Vancouver last October.

During the said event, she belted out her rendition of the hit song ‘Golden,’ which was popularized by the fictional girl group Huntrix in the animated movie ‘Kpop Demon Hunters’.

While that earned her a standing ovation from the crowd, Anne said that she felt that she could have done a better version.

Anne told in jest, “It’s really bad! I’m sorry.

The ‘It’s Showtime’ host then narrated what occurred behind-the-scenes. “Ang istorya kasi diyan, pinababaan ko ‘yung key… super baba. Pero di dapat ganun. Dapat ‘yung original key!

So hinihingi ko po ng patawad (sa mga) taga-Canada and I promise… babawi ako. Uulitin ko siya!

The Nation’s Sweetheart then said that she is aware that she is not a great singer, but she knows the performance that she did was bad.

Alam kong hindi ako magaling kumanta, pero ‘yun talaga… ang pangit!

Nonetheless, she said that she is happy that she was able to entertain the crowd in Vancouver with her special performance.

At the end of the day, I couldn’t hear myself and all I could see were the faces of the people in that arena and they were super cheering me on. Parang longest standing ovation ko in my life,” adding that she felt touched when the concertgoers requested for her to do more.

She then promised that once she does it again, it might not be “amazing,” but it would be “better.”
