The work promises to include new world-class tracks for athletes and members of the public.

In a social media post on Thursday, November 13, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) shared a peek into the ongoing construction works at its facilities in Baguio City.

Seen in which is PSC Chairman Patrick ‘Pato’ Gregorio, who was present for an ocular inspection at the PSC Baguio site.

According to the agency, works are now being carried out to replace the old rubber tracks, which are already being lifted, and will soon be replaced with brand new Olympic-quality tracks.

Furthermore, the upgrading works also reaffirm the agency’s commitment to “addressing the athletes’ critical and primary needs.

Prior to full-on reconstruction and rehabilitation of its track oval, works were previously done at the PSC Training Hub for a new strength and conditioning gym last July.

That included brand new gym equipment and a refurbished interior of the gym, which was made possible by the MVP Sports Foundation and John Hay Hotels, respectively.

Meanwhile, PSC Baguio, which was opened to the public for daily use in late July at the order of President Ferdinand Marcos, Jr., is set to reopen its gates in March 2026.
