He has directed them to add more chairs and electric fans inside the terminal.
Following his inspection at the Batangas Port, Department of Transportation (DOTr) Acting Chief Giovanni Lopez visited the Batangas City Grand Terminal.
However, he was not pleased when he saw the lack of facilities and comfortable seats for passengers using the terminal, which serves as the primary land-based terminal in Southern Luzon.
Lopez immediately instructed the management of the Batangas City Grand Terminal to add electric fans and seats in the arrivals area to make passengers comfortable while waiting.
“May pamantayan tayo, lalo na for the convenience of passengers. Kulang mga upuan, ang tigas pa. Ang PWD saan sya uupo? Paakyatin na sa bus, doon siya mag aantay?,” said Lopez.
He added, “Dapat may palaging option ang mga PWD, mga senior citizens na gusto muna nilang tumambay sa waiting area. Ang init po. Ayusin natin ito.”
The operator of the bus terminal has since promised to follow the orders made by Acting Secretary Lopez.
Aside from the terminal, Lopez also inspected buses, including wheels and fire extinguisher fpr the safety of the riding public.
The Batangas City Grand Terminal is an intermodal facility that caters to buses, vans, and jeepneys plying routes to and from Metro Manila, Cavite, Laguna, Lucena, Oriental Mindoro, and Occidental Mindoro, as well as other parts of the country through the Batangas City Port.
