For the first time in the pageant’s history.
On Saturday, October 18, the Miss Grand International 2025 took place in Bangkok, Thailand.
News anchor and pageant veteran, Emma Mary Tiglao from Pampanga, represented the Philippines in this edition.
A total of 77 contestants from all over the world headed to Thailand for the chance of becoming the next titleholder, succeeding the first-ever Filipina Miss Grand International CJ Opiaza.
Tiglao was able to make it past the first cut that saw the 77 go down to just 23. She then made it to Top 10, and later, the final five.
By the end of the competition, the 30-year-old was named the second Miss Grand International winner from the Philippines, with Opiaza crowning Tiglao once again just as she did in the national pageant back in August.
It is also the first time in the pageant’s history that the Philippines won back-to-back titles in Miss Grand International’s 13-year history.
Aside from the title, she also won the special award for Country’s Power of the Year.
Emma Tiglao is no stranger to the pageant scene, as she was first runner-up in Mutya ng Pilipinas 2012, Fourth Princess in Miss World Philippines 2015, and was crowned Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental in 2019.
In the lattermost, she was able to represent the county at the Miss Intercontinental 2019, where she finished as a semi-finalist.
Prior to joining Miss Grand PH, Tiglao has already established herself as a TV host and news anchor at NET25, where she appears on the late morning show ‘Kada Umaga’ and the station’s flagship newscast ‘Mata Ng Agila’.
Meanwhile, named first runner-up was Sarunrat Puagpipat from the host country Thailand, while Aitana Jiménez (Spain), Faith Porter (Ghana), and Nariman Battikha (Venezuela) announced as second to fourth runners-up, respectively.
