On Saturday, October 4, ABS-CBN’s hit reality competition program ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ returned with its fourth regular season after four years.
In this edition, seven solo participants and a duo are part of the line-up, with actress-host Alexa Ilacad being one of them.
The Kapamilya star was the very first to perform in the pilot episode, where she took the stage as American singer-songwriter Chappell Roan and performed the song ‘Pink Pony Club.’
After doing her impression, the 25-year-old multui-hyphenate admitted that she felt nervous doing the act.
“I was so excited and sobrang… grabe rin ‘yung kaba kapag favorite artist mo. S’yempre, gusto mong bigyan ng hustisya,” said Alexa before she jokingly apologized to Chappell.
In her comment, judges Sharon Cuneta, Gary Valenciano, and Ogie Alcasid were all in unison in giving positive reviews.
The Megastar said that she loved Alexa’s confidence, while the famed Songwriter and Chief of OPM called the actress-host a “revelation.”
Last, but not the least, Mr. Pure Energy clapped as he noted that he is used to seeing Alexa doing other genres on the variety show ‘ASAP,’ different from what she did on ‘Your Face.’
On social media, an unofficial upload of the performance on X, formerly Twitter, has already raked in more than 3 million views.
Under which, many were stunned to see and hear the resemblance between Chappell and Alexa in terms of their looks and the way they sang.
Aside from Ilacad, other performers on the comeback season of ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar’ are Rufa Mae Quinto, Jason Dy, Pepe Herrera, Dia Maté, BGYO’s Akira, Jarlo Base, and the tandem of JM Dela Cerna and Marielle Montellano.
