More than 110,000 officials and employees are qualified.
In a press briefing at Malacañang on Wednesday, Presidential Communications Office Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro announced that President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has approved the release of PHP1.64 billion worth of funds.
This was allocated for the 2023 performance-based bonuses (PBB) of Armed Forces of the Philippines-Philippine Army (AFP-PA) officials and employees, being given in recognition of their service to the nation.
According to Castro, more than 110,000 qualified officials and employees of the AFP-PA will receive the incentive released by the Department of Budget and Management (DBM).
“Batid ni Pangulong Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. ang husay at sakripisyo ng mga sundalo sa pagganap sa kanilang tungkulin bilang mga tagapagtanggol ng kalayaan at soberanya ng Pilipinas kaya’t nararapat lang na masuklian ang kagitingan ng ating kasundaluhan,” said Castro.
AFP-PA personnel and employees qualified for the PBB will receive up to 45.5 percent of their monthly basic salary as of December 31, 2023, she disclosed.
The Palace official also noted that to receive the incentive, one must have attained a “very satisfactory” rating under the AFP-PA strategic performance and management system.
