Cavite’s Joy Barcoma crowned Miss Philippines Earth 2025

On Sunday, August 10, the coronation night for the 25th edition of the Miss Philippines Earth took place at the Okada Manila in Parañaque City.

This year’s pageant was themed The Silver Lining of the nation and saw 36 participants compete for the chance to represent the country in Miss Earth, considered to be one of the most-prestigious in the scene.

By the end of the night, Joy Barcoma, who hails from Bacoor, Cavite, was awarded the coveted title of Miss Philippines Earth 2025 with the previous year’s winner Irha Mel Alfeche having bestowed the crown on her.

Alfeche was part of the Top 12 in Miss Earth 2024, the only Asian to make it to the list.

Barcoma is an alumna of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines’ College of Communication Class of 2018, with her alma mater having posted her latest feat on social media and expressed its congratulatory message towards her.

Meanwhile, joining her in the top 5 of this year’s national pageant are Miss Philippines Air Liz Mabao of Antipolo City, Miss Philippines Water Angel Rose Tambal from La Paz, Leyte, Miss Philippines Fire Jaymie Strickland who came all the way from Tallahassee, FL in the USA, and Miss Philippines Eco-Tourism Kriezl Jane Torres of Takalag, Bukidnon.

As of writing, organizers have yet to reveal the date for the upcoming Miss Earth 2025 competition.

During which, Joy Barcoma will represent the country and contend for the fifth crown in the pageant.

Past winners from the Philippines are Karla Henry (2008), Jamie Herrell (2014), Angelia Ong (2015), and Karen Ibasco (2017).
