On Saturday, July 5, ‘Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition’ aired its last episode of the season with the Big Night finale at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
During the 90-minute spectacle, the fate of the last four duos of the edition were determined by the masses through an in-app voting that lasted until the end of the first half of the live show.
But first, the 12 ex-housemates who gave color to the groundbreaking ‘PBB’ season made possible by the collaboration between media giants GMA and ABS-CBN graced the special with their opening number.
Joinining them in the performance were two of the most-memorable houseguests of the season, Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Dee and ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre’ star Bianca Umali.
After which, the final four duo housemates watched together their messages to their respective partners.
Not to be missed also was the “Über-acting” re-enactment of the popular ‘OA’ incident of Klarisse de Guzman and Dustin Yu during a task, with Melai Cantiveros-Francisco and Robi Domingo portraying the two.
Speaking of de Guzman, the ‘Kwelang Soul Diva’ did a rendition of Darren Espanto’s ‘Paalam Muna Sandali’—the official eviction song of the season—with contestants from ‘The Clash’ and ‘Tawag Ng Tanghalan All-Star Resbak’.
Back to the results, the envelops containing the major announcements of the night was personally delivered by new-gen matinee idol and the cause of the viral “tall, dark, handsome” statement made by Shuvee Etrata, Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan.
The first to be unsealed and announced was the one containing the names of the fourth big placers, who turned out to be AZ Martinez and River Joseph, also known as AzVer.
Coming in as third big placers of this edition are Charlie Fleming and Esnyr Ranollo, team CharEs.
The RaWi duo of Ralph de Leon and Will Ashley, meanwhile, was declared the second big placer.
Thus, the night, or the whole edition rather, went to the BreKa tandem of Brent Manalo and Mika Salamanca who take the distinction as the first-ever Big Placer Duo in the 20-year history of ‘Pinoy Big Brother’.
The Big Night drew in large audiences, with combined viewership on the YouTube channels of ABS-CBN Entertainment and GMA Network unofficially peaking at over 1.1 million live concurrent views.
Due to the major success of ‘PBB Celebrity Collab,’ the program announced that the housemates will be holding a special reunion concert at the Araneta Coliseum in August.
Moreover, ABS-CBN and GMA are set to continue their historic partnership as another ‘Collab’ season has been teased at the end of the Big Night and is scheduled to premiere before the end of the 2025.
