On Thursday, June 26, ABS-CBN Studios and its production unit Star Creatives jointly unveiled the official poster, created by Justin Besana, for the upcoming Filipino adaptation of ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.’

Based on the 2020 Korean drama series of the same name, the local remake has tapped the award-winning cast led by Anne Curtis, Joshua Garcia, and Carlo Aquino to portray the lead roles.

Curtis will portray the Filipino version of Ko Moon Young, which was originally portrayed by Seo Yea Ji. Her character will be given the localized name Emilia ‘Mia’ Hernandez.

Meanwhile, Garcia will play the part of Moon Gang Tae, which was the role of Kim Soo Hyun in the South Korean TV series. He will be known as Patrick ‘Patpat’ Gonzales in the adaptation.

Aquino will do the local version of Gang Tae’s older brother Moon Sang Tae, the role Oh Jung Se had in the K-drama. His character will go by the name Matthew ‘Matmat’ Gonzales in the Philippine remake.

Mae Cruz-Alviar, who recently helmed popular Kapamilya primetime dramas ‘2 Good 2 Be True’ and ‘Can’t Buy Me Love,’ is on board as the director of ‘It’s Okay To Not Be Okay.’

Expected to be seen in the show are sceneries in the southern part of the Philippines, as it was filmed primarily in the Visayas area over multiple cycles.

Aside from the poster drop, the series’ premiere has also been announced to be happening on July 18, with viewers seeing it first via the streaming platform Netflix days ahead of its traditional television broadcast.

This will make ‘It’s Okay’ as the latest Kapamilya series to be given such treatment, as it had been done before in ‘2G2BT,’ ‘CBML,’ and most-recently, the ongoing primetime action series ‘Incognito.’
