The award-winning actress’ achievement was formally recognized in the legislature.
Last Wednesday, June 4, Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo was in the Senate to receive her copy of Resolution No. 1320, which was endorsed in the plenary on the said day.
The said piece recognizes her Best Actress win in the Fantasporto International Film Festival last March for the movie ‘Espantaho.’
In a reel posted in her official social media accounts, the actress happily shared with her fans her thoughts following the Senate nod.
“Nakuha ko today ang resolution ng Senate for ‘Espantaho’ [and] for winning sa Fantasporto. Hindi ko akalain na aabot dito ‘yung trabaho ko bilang artista,” said Juday.
She added, “Thank you so much to all the senators, [especially kay] Senator Jinggoy Estrada, for the resolution. Malaking bagay na makilala ang mga trabaho mo.”
Also present to support her in the ceremony are her family, mom Carol Santos, brother Jeffrey Santos, and husband Ryan Agoncillo.
Aside from Judy Ann, also receiving commendations from the body are the late icons Gloria Romero, Pilita Corrales, Nora Aunor, and Ricky Davao.
The Fantasporto 2025 win came after Judy Ann won in the same category during the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi Ng Parangal last December 2024.
She is also the fourth Filipino actor to win an accolade at the said festival, joining the list that includes Barbie Forteza, Ian Veneracion, and Cristine Reyes.
