One of the Philippines’ prime actresses has added another feather to her cap.
Judy Ann Santos-Agoncillo, over the weekend, was hailed as the winner of the Best Actress category at the 45th FantasPorto International Film Festival in Portugal.
She bagged the trophy for her portrayal in ‘The Scarecrow,’ the English name of the movie ‘Espantaho’.
During her acceptance speech, Juday thanked the body for the recognition, and said, “…it is with great pride and honor that I’m here to represent my country, which is the Philippines.“
She also shared her win the film’s director, Chito Roño, writer Chris Martinez, and the whole ‘Espantaho’ team.
The star also dedicated the win to her family, whom she called as her “inspiration” in every project that she makes.
To end, she described the trophy as the “best souvenir” that she will be taking home.
This is yet another achievement for Santos-Agoncillo, who also won in the same category during the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival Gabi Ng Parangal last December.
She is also the fourth Filipino actor to win an accolade at FantasPorto, joining the list that includes Barbie Forteza, Ian Veneracion, and Cristine Reyes.
