In its continued quest to make “banking beautiful.”
In its announcement, digital bank GoTyme disclosed that it has already set up its kiosks at a handful of SM Store branches in the Philippines.
Through these, new registrants are able to create their account and receive their first debit card within minutes.
According to the list provided by GoTyme, its machines are available at SM Stores in Lanang, Lipa, Baguio, Mall of Asia, Fairview, Cebu, North EDSA, Makati, Davao, Aura, Bacoor, Megamall, Calamba, Southmall, and BF Parañaque.
Meanwhile, it remains to be seen when the BSP-licensed digital bank’s automated teller machines (ATMs) will become available in SM malls.
This move is a significant expansion for the bank, which is co-owned by the Gokongwei family-led JG Summit Holdings, Inc.
That said conglomerate also owns one of SM’s rival mall chains, Robinsons Malls, as one of its flagship businesses in its portfolio.
Notably, the SM Group itself also has in its possession the retail banking giant, BDO Unibank—the third biggest in the country—that also has its lwn digital-first product.
As of December 2024, GoTyme reported that it has already reached 5 million users—over two years since it was formally launched in October 2022.
