In an Instagram post, actress Ara Davao shared the official statement of their family on the passing of her father, veteran actor and director, Ricky Davao.

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Ricky Davao,” she opened the post.

Ara then disclosed details about his death, writing, “He passed away peacefully, surrounded by his children and loved ones, after bravely facing complications related to cancer.

The actress went on to describe the legacy of her late father, who had been in showbusiness in the past 47 years.

For more than four decades, he dedicated his life to the craft of acting and directing. His remarkable body of work and award-winning performances have left a lasting legacy that will continue to inspire. Most of all he was a loving father, brother, son, and friend,” posted Davao

To end, Ara and her family shared their gratitude to prayers, love, and kind messages they are receiving from family, friends, and supporters during this difficult time.

Meanwhile, details about his Ricky Davao’s memorial service will be shared soon, the family noted.

Some of Ricky’s best-known works include the likes of ‘Bulaklak Sa City Jail,’ ‘Kahit Konting Pagtingin,’ ‘Eskapo,’ ‘Asero,’ ‘American Adobo,’ and ‘Crying Ladies’.

Months prior to his passing, Ricky was seen in the hit Netflix show ‘Sosyal Climbers,’ which streamed in January, and the movie ‘Sinagtala’.

He is also part of the upcoming fantasy drama ‘Encantadia Chronicles: Sang’gre,’ where he was revealed to be playing the role of Emil.
