In video clips uploaded by the Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP), it was seen that the VIP Lounge inside the Siargao Airport in Surigao has been removed.
The video, shared by the Department of Transportation (DOTr) in its social media page, saw the walls separating the area being torn down.
The caption, meanwhile, read, “Dahil sa utos ni Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon, tinanggal na ang VIP Lounge sa Siargao Airport para magkaron ng mas malaking espasyo ang mga pasaherong bumabiyahe.“
During his recent inspection of the airport in the popular beach destination, Secretary Vince Dizon expressed his dismay over the space, which could have been used to address the congestion inside the terminal building.
