It also reminded other Filipinos working in the Middle Eastern country to adhere to local laws.

In its statement, the Philippine Embassy in Qatar confirmed reports regarding the arrests of overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) following recent demonstrations in the said country.

It read, “The Embassy of the Republic of the Philippines in Doha is aware that several Filipino nationals have been arrested and detained early today, 28 March 2025, for suspected unauthorized political demonstrations in Qatar.

The consulate then gave assurance that they remain “in touch with local authorities for the provision of necessary consular assistance to said nationals.”
