A last-minute change in the broadcast set-up of the long-running reality show.
In the updated teaser plugs of TV5, the Kapatid network revealed that it will now be carrying the upcoming seventh season of ‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ concurrent to its airtime on other platforms.
As such, ‘PGT’ will now air at 7:15 pm on TV5 beginning March 29 and 30, with simulcast available on the Kapamilya Channel, Kapamilya Online Live, and A2Z.
Hosted by Robi Domingo and Melai Cantiveros-Francisco, the popular talent show format will return with a new panel of judges, led by the returning Freddie M. Garcia, with ‘Asia’s Superstar’ Kathryn Bernardo, ‘Comedy Star for All Seasons’ Eugene Domingo, and ‘New Gen Matinee Idol’ Donny Pangilinan.
Licensed from content company Fremantle, the format made its way to the Philippines in 2010 and was originally hosted by Luis Manzano and Billy Crawford.
The original panel of judges were formed by Kris Aquino, Ai-Ai delas Alas, and former ABS-CBN general manager Freddie M. Garcia, with the composition lasting until the fourth season of the show in 2013.
‘Pilipinas Got Talent’ went to become a highly-successful program, and produced acts like Jovit Baldivino, Marcelito Pomoy, and El Gamma Penumbra, to name a few.
In 2016, the show had a change, where Freddie Garcia was joined by now-Senator Robin Padilla, Vice Ganda, Angel Locsin in the panel.
‘PGT’ aired its last fresh season in 2018, the year that saw Kristel de Catallina named as the sixth champion of the national franchise. By then, Billy Crawford was joined by Toni Gonzaga, who had taken over the MC role from original co-host Luis Manzano.
