The Korean star will be pursuing a career in the Philippines.
On Thursday, March 20, Universal Records Philippines and GLXY Talent Management jointly revealed the newest artist in their stable, who is none other than South Korean pop idol-actor Choi Bomin.
The press conference marked the first visit of the 24-year-old personality in the Philippines, although he shared that he was able to familiarize himself to the local industry by watching Filipino content online.
Now that he has signed with agencies in the country, Bomin also revealed that he will be seen on national television network soon.
“I have an upcoming project, [which is] a drama series with GMA,” but did not add further details.
Apart from that, the K-pop star also mentioned singer Sam Concepcion as the Filipino artist he would like to collaborate with.
Bomin made his debut in 2017 as part of the original line-up of the group Golden Child, known for their songs like ‘DamDaDi,’ ‘Wannabe,’ ‘Without You,’ and ‘One.’
In 2024, he left the group following the expiration of his contract with the band.
Aside from his music career, Bomin has also forged his own path in acting, having starred in TV serials like ‘A-Teen 2,’ ‘Melting Me Softly,’ and ’18 Again.’
He also served as an MC, alongside actress Shin Ye-eun, of the weekly music countdown show ‘Music Bank’ in 2019.
