This marks his first solo music drop in over two years.
Last Monday, March 10, Korean pop singer Xiumin of the boy band EXO released his second solo extended play titled ‘Interview X.’
Carried as the lead single of the said EP is the song ‘Whee!’, which dropped the official music video concurrent with the rest of the mini-album.
As of writing and in less than a week since it was uploaded, the MV has garnered over 10 million views on video-sharing platform YouTube.
Apart from the song, also part of ‘Interview X’ are five other tracks, namely ‘Can’t Help Myself,’ ‘Make You Lala,’ ‘Switch Off,’ ‘Lost Paradise,’ and ‘Love Is U.’
Xiumin made his debut in the music scene in 2012 as one of the 12 original members of K-pop group EXO, which is known for their songs like ‘Growl,’ ‘Monster,’ ‘Lotto,’ ‘Ko Ko Bop,’ ‘Love Shot,’ and ‘Obsession,’ among many others.
He later formed a sub-unit with fellow members Chen and Baekhyun, named EXO-CBX, in 2016.
Years later, in 2022, he made his official debut as a soloist with the release of his first extended play titled ‘Brand New.’
Meanwhile, Xiumin is set to embark on an Asian tour soon, as he set to hold his ‘X Times ()’ tour in in six stops across the region, including the Philippines — where it is scheduled to happen on May 10, 2025 at the New Frontier Theater in Quezon City.
