She is the first member of the team to do so.
On Monday, March, Hwang Yeji of Korean pop girl group ITZY made her debut as a soloist under JYP Entertainment.
This, as the 24-year-old K-pop star dropped her first mini-album, titled ‘Air,’ at 6:00 pm (Korean time).
Featured as the lead single is the namesake track of the album. So far, its music video has already garnered over 870,000 views, as of writing.
Aside from that, also part of the extended play are ‘Invasion,’ ‘Can’t Slow Me, No,’ and “258.”
Yeji, along with fellow ITZY members Ryujin, Yuna, Chaeryeong, and Lia, debuted in 2019 with the song ‘Dalla Dalla.’
They later went on to release songs like ‘ICY,’ ‘Wannabe,’ ‘Not Shy,’ ‘MAFIA In the Morning,’ ‘Loco,’ and ‘Boys Like You.’
In 2024, they made their most-recent comeback with their full-album ‘Gold,’ which carried the namesake title track.
All five members of the team participated in the New Year’s Eve countdown event organized by the Philippine city of Taguig last December 31.
