The league is moving on to a new station.
Starting Saturday, March 8, select games of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) for Season 2025 will be seen live on digital free TV and pay TV via Solar Sports.
This, as MPBL chairman and founder, Manny Pacquiao, signed a partnership deal with Solar Entertainment Corporation CEO and Presídent, Wilson Tieng.
“We are delighted to bring the excitement of the MPBL to Solar Sports,” said Tieng, describing the league as an embodiment of the passion and spirit of Filipino basketball.
Meanwhile, Pacquiao, who established the basketball league in 2017, shared his excitement to team-up with the media company, “Masayang-masaya ako to be working again with Solar Sports. The channel kung saan mo napanood ang mga laban ko.”
Solar Sports was the main Philippine broadcast partner for Manny Pacquiao’s professional boxing matches since the mid-2000s.
As for MPBL Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes, “Teaming up with Solar Sports is an exciting milestone for the MPBL.”
According to the aforementioned basketball league, an estimated 200 matches will be shown by the broadcaster throughout the regular season, playoffs, finals, and all-star games.
The season will run from March to December 2025, with the MPBL airing select games live on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 6:00 pm on Solar Sports.
Prior to joining Solar Sports’ lineup, the MPBL aired its matches on Cignal TV’s One PH, on top of its standalone MPTV channel on the pay television provider.
